Customers

Customers is your shop's customer book. A customer is created here, or by your shop when a shopper registers or checks out. From a customer's page you see their orders and addresses, keep a note for your team, and suspend or remove them. Start from Customers, under Orders & logistics in the main menu.

Add a customer

  1. Open the main menu and, under Orders & logistics, click Customers.
  2. Click Add a customer.
  3. On New customer, enter the First name. This is the only required field.
  4. Optionally, fill in the Surname, Company (optional), Email and Phone.
  5. Click Save.

The message The customer has been created. appears. Their billing and delivery addresses are added afterwards, from their own page.

Note — There is no separate choice between an individual and a company: leave Company (optional) empty for an individual, or fill it in for a business customer. The Type column of your lists then shows Individual or Company.

Find a customer

  1. Open Customers and click the All customers tab. The newest customers come first.
  2. To narrow the list, choose a status in the All statuses list, or switch the sort to Oldest first.
  3. To look for a precise customer, click the Search tab, type a name, an email or a phone number in Search a customer by name, email or phone, then click Search.
  4. Click Detail at the end of the customer's row.

The customer's page opens on its Overview tab, with their Identity, their orders and their addresses.

See a customer's orders and addresses

  1. Open the customer's page (see Find a customer).
  2. Click the Orders tab to see every order they placed, with its Reference, Status and Total. Click Detail to open an order.
  3. Click the Address tab to see their Billing address and Delivery address.
  4. To change an address, click Edit in its box, fill in Address line 1, Postal code, City and Country, then click Save.

The message The delivery address has been saved. (or The billing address has been saved.) appears.

Add an internal note

The internal note is shared with your whole team — use it for a customer's preferences or instructions to keep in mind for their orders and deliveries.

  1. Open the customer's page on its Overview tab.
  2. In the Internal note box, click Edit.
  3. Type your text in Note.
  4. Click Save.

The message The internal note has been saved. appears, and the note shows in the Internal note box with its Last updated date.

Suspend a customer

Suspending a customer blocks their new orders while keeping their history.

  1. Open the customer's page on its Overview tab.
  2. In the Identity box, click Suspend.
  3. On Customer status, check the Current status, then click Suspend customer.

The message Customer status updated. appears. To give the customer their active status back, click Activate in the same place, then Activate customer.

Remove a customer

Removing a customer hides them from your lists without deleting anything. Their past orders stay available.

  1. Open the customer's page and click the Security tab.
  2. Click Delete the account.
  3. On Delete this customer?, check the Name, Email and Phone.
  4. Click Remove this customer.

The message The customer has been deleted. appears and the customer no longer shows in your lists. Their details are kept and the customer can be restored.
