Email, phone and IP checks

Your shop checks the contact details it collects, so you keep clean and reachable customer data. You can also run a check yourself: test an email address before you write to it, read what a phone number is, or see where an IP address comes from. Open Email, Telephone or IP Address from the tools icon (the wrench) in the top-right corner of the header, under Verifier. Each screen has three tabs: Overview, History and Search.

Check an email address

  1. In the top-right corner of the header, click the tools icon (the wrench), then under Verifier click Email.
  2. In Enter an email address, type the address.
  3. Click Verify.

The report shows whether the email is valid (Valid email), its Syntax, its DNS and MX records, and whether it uses a Disposable Domain or a Free Domain.

Check a phone number

  1. In the header, click the tools icon (the wrench), then under Verifier click Telephone.
  2. In Enter a phone number, type the number, then choose its country in the list next to it.
  3. Click Check.

The report shows the Country, whether the number is a Possible number and a Valid number, its E164, National and International formats, its Type and its Operator.

Locate an IP address

  1. In the header, click the tools icon (the wrench), then under Verifier click IP Address.
  2. In Enter an IP address, type the address.
  3. Click Verify.

The report shows the Country, Region and City of the address, its Latitude and Longitude, and its Owner.

Note — Every check counts in your usage, whether you run it yourself or your shop runs it automatically.

Find a check

  1. Open Email, Telephone or IP Address, then click the History tab to see the latest checks.
  2. To narrow the list, choose an Origin — Web for the checks run from the workspace, System for the ones your shop runs automatically — then click Filter.
  3. To find one check, click the Search tab, type an address, a number or a keyword, then click Search.
