Callouts and top banner

Callouts are the short messages your shop shows to catch the eye: the band of messages across the very top of your shop, and the badges, notes and tags on your product and category cards. From Callouts, under Marketing in the main menu, you write these messages and choose how they look. Each tab shows a Preview of the result on desktop and on mobile.

Turn the top banner on or off

  1. Open the main menu and, under Marketing, click Callouts.
  2. Click the Top banner tab.
  3. On the Top banner card, click Edit.
  4. In Status, choose whether the banner shows on your shop.
  5. Optionally, enter a Background color. Left unset, it takes your shop's primary color.
  6. Click Save.

The message Banner status saved. appears.

Note — Turning the banner off keeps its messages, colors and sizes. Switch it back on and the band returns exactly as you left it.

Write the top banner messages

The banner scrolls through several messages, one after another.

  1. On the Top banner tab, click Edit on the Messages card.
  2. Type your messages in Message 1, Message 2 and the following fields — up to six.
  3. Click Save.

The message Messages saved. appears. An empty field removes its message.

Change the look of the top banner

  1. On the Top banner tab, click Edit on the Text style card.
  2. Choose the Font, the Text size, desktop (px) and Text size, mobile (px), the Weight, the Text color and the Text case (Uppercase or Normal case).
  3. Click Save. The message Banner text style saved. appears.
  4. To change the height of the band, click Edit on the Height card, enter Band height, desktop (px) and Band height, mobile (px), then click Save.

The message Banner size saved. appears. Every field is optional: an empty field leaves the banner as your shop already shows it.

Note — Text sizes go from 8 to 40 pixels, band heights from 12 to 200 pixels. Colors are entered as 3 or 6 hexadecimal digits, for example E11D48.

Dress your product cards

The Product cards tab sets four callouts shown on every product card: the Corner badge that flags a discount, the Saving chip stating the amount saved, the Card note under the price and the Card tag at the foot of the card.

  1. In Callouts, click the Product cards tab.
  2. Click Edit on the card of the callout you want to change.
  3. In Status, choose whether the callout shows.
  4. Set its colors, Text size in pixels and Weight. For the Corner badge, you can also choose its Placement (Left, Centered or Right) and its margins.
  5. For the Card note or the Card tag, tick the words to show on cards that carry none of their own.
  6. Click Save.

A confirmation message appears, for example Corner badge settings saved.

Note — The corner badge and the saving chip only appear on products that carry a discount. The words of the notes and tags are created on the Labels tab.

Add a label to your products

A label is a word painted on the cards of the products that carry it — a Badge, a Tag or a Note.

  1. In Callouts, click the Labels tab.
  2. Click Add a label.
  3. Choose the Type, then enter the word in Label.
  4. Choose which products wear it: a Product, a Catalogue category, or tick All products.
  5. Tick Replace the labels already on those products if this word should replace the label of the same type they already carry.
  6. Click Save.

The message Label saved. appears, with the number of products updated. Renaming a label from its Edit link rewrites it on every product carrying it.

Tip — To take a label off all your products, click Delete on its row, then Delete this label. Nothing else on their cards changes.

Dress your category cards

  1. In Callouts, click the Category cards tab.
  2. Click Edit on the Former price card (the struck-through price) or on the Saving label card (the amount saved under the price).
  3. In Status, choose whether the line shows.
  4. Set the Text color, Text size, Weight and Case. For the Saving label, you can also set the Background color, the Corner radius (px) and the inner spacing.
  5. Click Save.

The message Your changes have been saved. appears. This look is shared by every category card in your shop.

Add a selling argument to your products

A selling argument is a short phrase, such as a key benefit, given to one or more products. It is used to compose the description search engines show for those products.

  1. In Callouts, click the Product tab.
  2. Click Add a selling argument.
  3. In Argument, type the phrase — 40 characters at most.
  4. Under Products, choose the products that carry it, or tick All products.
  5. Click Save.

The message The selling argument was saved. appears.
