Live

Live follows your shop as it happens: customers signing in, creating an account, ordering, writing to you or leaving a review, the changes your team makes, what your API sends and what runs automatically. Open it from the Live icon (the broadcast signal) in the top-right corner of the workspace header, to the left of the other icons. Live has three tabs: Overview, Journal and Statistics. Opening these pages changes nothing in your shop.

Follow your shop live

  1. In the top-right corner of the workspace header, click the Live icon. The Overview tab opens.
  2. On the Today card, read Visitors now (the people your shop saw in the last 30 minutes), Orders placed, New accounts and Support requests. Under each figure, Yesterday at this time gives yesterday's count at the same hour.
  3. On the Latest activity card, read the newest events, each with its origin, its author and its time. Updated … sec ago shows when the card last checked.
  4. Click an event to open the record it concerns, such as the order or the customer.

While the page is open and visible, it checks for new events every 10 seconds. The same action by the same author within a minute is grouped on one line with its count, for example Settings update ×3.

Note — Orders placed counts the orders customers place on your shop, paid or not, so it can differ from the sales on your dashboard. What customers put in their cart, the vouchers they use and the payments they make are not recorded as events yet.

See who acted today

  1. Open Live. On the Overview tab, find the Who acted today card.
  2. Read one line per origin, Customers, Team, API and System, with its Actions today and, under it, the action it did most (Mostly).
  3. Click Open journal to see those events one by one.

Look through the journal

The journal lists every event your shop recorded, newest first.

  1. Open Live and click the Journal tab.
  2. In Period, choose Last 24 hours, Last 7 days (the default), Last 30 days, Last 90 days or All time.
  3. In Origin, keep All origins or choose Customers, Team, API or System.
  4. In Event type, keep All events or choose one type, such as Log in.
  5. Read each event's Event, Origin, Who, Country and Date, and click Details at the end of its row to open the record it concerns, when there is one.

The list updates as soon as you change a filter. Click Next or Previous to move through the pages. If nothing fits, No event matches these filters appears: change the filters to see more.

Read your customers' activity over a period

  1. Open Live and click the Statistics tab. It opens on the last 30 days.
  2. To change the period, use the date picker on the Customer activity card, then click Apply.
  3. On the Over the period card, read Orders placed, New accounts, Active customers and Support requests, each with the Previous period figure for comparison.
  4. Read the Customer activity chart: one bar per day of what your customers did.
  5. In Most frequent events, read each Event with its Origin, its number of Events and its Share.
  6. On the When customers act chart, see at which hours of the day your customers are most active.

Note — Days run from midnight to midnight, UTC, and hours follow UTC. Sign-ins are not charted: they count in Active customers.
