Audience

Audience shows how your storefront is visited: how many pages were viewed, how many visits and visitors you had, which pages and products drew them, where they came from and on which device. It is read only — nothing you do here changes your shop. Open it from Audience near the top of the main menu; sales figures are in Statistics.

See how many people visit your shop

  1. Open the main menu and click Audience.
  2. At the top right of Audience over the period, click the date range to open the calendar.
  3. Click a start day, then an end day, and click Apply — or click Last 30 days to go back to the default range.
  4. Read the four figures: Page views, Visits, Daily visitors and Pages per visit.

The whole screen follows the range you chose: the Page views and Sessions charts, the cards and the lists below. Under Customer activity, you also see your customers by the date of their Last order and how many are Returning customers.

Note — Days run from 00:00 to 24:00 UTC and figures are updated every 5 minutes. A range can cover up to 400 days. Robots, visitors who block measurement or send a Do Not Track signal, and your own previews are not counted — open How these figures are counted at the bottom of the screen for the details.

Tip — The same box gives a ready-made sentence for your privacy policy, starting For your privacy policy:. The audience is measured without cookies.

Find your most-viewed pages

  1. Open Audience and, if needed, choose your period.
  2. Read Top pages: each Page with its Page views and its Entrances (visits that started there).
  3. For the full list, click the Pages tab.

The Pages tab lists every address viewed, 50 per page — use Previous and Next to browse. Page types groups the views by kind of page, such as Home, Product, Catalogue or Checkout.

Note — Each page is listed once, whatever storefront country it was viewed in, and / is the home page. Cart, checkout and customer account pages are counted in Page types only, which is why the Pages list adds up to less than the chart.

Find your most-viewed products

  1. Open Audience and scroll to Most viewed products.
  2. Click View report to see every product viewed over the same period.
  3. Read the Product page views chart, split between Entrances and Later in the visit.
  4. In Products, click a product's name to open its record.

Category pages lists the category pages that were viewed most, with an Other row for the rest. To manage the products themselves, click View products under Most viewed products, or see Products.

See where your visitors come from

  1. Open Audience and look at Top sources.
  2. Click View report to open the full list of Sources.
  3. Read the chart of Visits per day, split into Search, Direct, Social, Other websites, Campaign, Email and Advertising.
  4. Scroll down to see the websites (Website) and the Campaign names that brought the most visits.

Each Share column adds up to 100%, so you see at a glance which source brings most of your traffic.

See which country storefront your visitors browse

  1. Open Audience and look at Sessions by country.
  2. Click View report under that card.
  3. Read Storefront countries for the Page views, Visits and Daily visitors of each country, then Storefront languages.

Note — A country is the storefront the page was viewed on, not where the visitor is: someone in France browsing your South African storefront counts under South Africa.

See which devices your visitors use

  1. Open Audience and look at Devices for a quick view.
  2. Click the Devices tab for the full figures.
  3. Read the Devices table: Mobile, Tablet and Computer, each with its Page views, Share, Visits, Daily visitors and Pages per visit.
  4. Read Hours of the day (UTC) to find when your shop is busiest.

The device is set by the screen width when the page was viewed, so a large phone held sideways may count as a tablet.

Note — When the period holds no visit, Nothing was measured over this period. is shown. Not provided means a figure could not be read — it is unknown, not zero.
